If you’re transferring a toll-free or local phone number into Grasshopper, make sure you don't cancel your account with your current provider until the transfer is 100% complete! We don’t want you to get stuck without a working number. 

We’ll let you know when the transfer to Grasshopper is complete, but until you receive that confirmation email from us please leave things be. Please keep in mind that since Grasshopper is a virtual phone system that works on top of your existing service, you are still required to have an active phone number from a third-party carrier (so you may need to keep your account active).
