Choose hold music for your callers
Choose hold music for your system or for an extension to enhance your customer's hold experience.
Legacy admin portal
If your admin portal home page looks like the screenshot below, these steps are for you.
- Sign in to the admin portal.
- Go to .
- To change your system's hold music:
- The account-wide hold music will always be in the top row. Select Change Music in the account-wide hold music row.
- Select Use next to the desired hold music.
- To change an extension's hold music:
- Select Change Music next to Set On Hold Music by Extension.
- Next to the desired extension, choose hold music from the drop-down menu.
- Select Save Changes.
Admin portal
If your admin portal home page looks like the screenshot below, these steps are for you.
Hold music is determined from the extension regardless of the call routing you have chosen for your phone number. If you choose Direct connection to extension, the caller will hear that extension's hold music. If you choose Phone menu, the caller will hear the hold music for the extension they dial.
- Sign in to the admin portal.
- Go to .
- Select
next to the desired extension.
- From call forwarding greeting, select Hold music and then choose the hold music you'd like to be played for your callers.
- Select Save.
