You can easily transfer your toll-free or local phone numbers into Grasshopper Connect using the steps shown below. You can also learn more about how transferring phone numbers works.
- Check the transfer eligibility (local numbers only). In some cases it’s not possible for Grasshopper Connect to take ownership of a certain phone number (such as those with DSL connected, or with a contract that restricts transfers). Before continuing, please review our eligibility requirements.
- Obtain a Grasshopper Connect account. If you don’t have one yet, sign up now and return to these steps once you’ve logged in to your new account.
- Gather the info required for the transfer form. In order to initiate a phone number transfer, we’ll need some specific details about your existing contract with your phone carrier. It’s best to ensure you have easy access to all necessary information before you begin so that you don’t have to go digging for it later.
- Open a transfer request. Once you’re ready to get started, you can use our Phone Number Transfer Request Form to open a support ticket with Customer Care.
Please note that you should not cancel your service with your current provider right away, or you will be left without a working number while the transfer is completed. You can check the status of your transfer at any time.
