Enable call recording
Enable automatic call recording for extensions on your account.
Before you begin:
You must have admin permissions.
Important: Local laws typically require consent from one or all parties to a recorded call, and it's your responsibility to comply with these requirements. This means you must first ensure each Grasshopper user is aware if recording is enabled for their extension. You may also need to notify the people your users talk to. For inbound calls, you can use an automated recording announcement. For outbound calls, your users will need to rely on verbal notice, where required.
- Sign in at https://nuui.us.grasshopper.com.
- Go to .
- From Call recording, select Set-up Call Recording.
- Select the drop-down menu next to For inbound calls and For outbound calls to select which extensions you’d like to have recorded by enabling the toggle next to each extension.
- Optional: To use the automated recording announcement for inbound calls, select Set automatic announcement for inbound calls and then enable the toggle next to Recording announcement for inbound calls. The recording says "This call will be recorded for quality and training purposes," and will play before the call is connected.
- Optional: To allow users with extension access to access call recordings for that extension, go to Extensions, select Edit next to an extension, and then select On under Call Recording Permission.
What to do next:
- You can play and manage recordings by signing in to https://nuui.us.grasshopper.com and navigating to . Select More next to a recording to download, block the number, or delete a recording.
- Recordings will be stored for 30 days and then automatically deleted.
- Admins can play and manage all recordings; while users can only play and manage the recordings for the extension(s) they have access to, if the extension has Call Recording Permission enabled.
