Missed call and hangup reasons

Learn about the different missed call and hangup reasons.

Before you begin:
  • The missed call and hangup reasons are only available in the Conversations tab of the mobile app at this time.
  • To enable the Conversations tab, go to Settings > Unified view and enable the toggle.

From the mobile app, select Conversations from the bottom of the screen and then select a conversation with a missed call or hangup entry.

Tip: From Conversations, select Calls at the top of the list of conversations to filter to calls only.

Missed call reasons

A call is labeled a missed call when your phone rings but the phone call was never accepted by a user on your account. Learn about the different reasons below.

Caller hung up The caller hung up after dialing an extension from your phone number.
Call not answered You or a user on your account didn’t answer an incoming call.
Tip: Extend the extension's ring duration.
Call declined You or a user on your account declined the incoming call.

Hangup reasons

A call is labeled a hangup call when your phone does not ring due to different configurations. Learn about the different reasons below.

Caller did not select an extension The caller did not select an extension from your main greeting.
Tip:
  • Choose how calls are handled if a caller doesn’t dial an extension or option from the main greeting.
  • Update the main greeting.
Caller hung up during greeting The caller hung up during your main greeting or did not select an extension from your main greeting.
Tip:
  • Choose how calls are handled if a caller doesn’t dial an extension or option from the main greeting.
  • Update the main greeting.
Missing call forwarding number The dialed extension doesn’t have a call forwarding number, or all call forwarding numbers for the extension are turned off.
Tip: Review the call forwarding configuration for the extension.
Call outside business hours The incoming call was placed outside of your designated business hours.
Tip: Update your away greeting schedule or the call forwarding schedule for the extension.
