Enable call blasting

If you have more than one call forwarding number on an extension, call blasting will ring each line simultaneously to reduce wait times for your callers. Call blasting can support up to 15 different call forwarding destinations.

Before you begin: You must have admin permissions.
Enabling call blasting will add a monthly fee to your bill.

Legacy admin portal

If your admin portal home page looks like the screenshot below, these steps are for you.Legacy admin portal home page

  1. Sign in to the admin portal.
  2. Go to Settings > Features.
  3. Select Add Call Blasting. Call blasting will be enabled for all extensions.
  4. To configure call blasting on your extensions.
    1. Select Extensions and then select Edit next to the desired extension.
    2. Under the forwarding number(s), select Options.
    3. From This extension should call each of my phone numbers, select Simultaneously.
    4. Select Edit next to a forwarding number and then select Calls will be announced when you pick up under How should Grasshopper handle calls to this number?. Repeat this for each forwarding number in each extension that will take advantage of the call blasting.
      Important: When call blasting is enabled, an extension's call forwarding number's settings must be identical to work correctly. Different ring times or schedules could impact other call forwarding numbers, leading to missed calls.
  5. Optional: To remove call blasting from an extension:
    1. Select Extensions and then select Edit next to the desired extension.
    2. Select Options under the forwarding number(s).
    3. From This extension should call each of my phone numbers, change Simultaneously to either In order, just once or Indefinitely, until someone picks up.

Admin portal

If your admin portal home page looks like the screenshot below, these steps are for you.Admin portal home page

  1. Sign in to the admin portal.
  2. Go to Plan & billing > Subscriptions.
  3. Enable the toggle for Call Blasting. Call blasting will be enabled for all extensions.
  4. To configure call blasting on your extensions:
    1. Go to Call management > Extensions.
    2. Select Edit icon next to the desired extension.
    3. From Call forwarding numbers, select Ring simultaneously.
    4. Select Edit icon next to a forwarding number and then select Calls will be announced when you pick up from Call handling.
    5. Select Save > Save. Repeat this for each forwarding number in each extension that will take advantage of the call blasting.
    Important: When call blasting is enabled, an extension's call forwarding number's settings must be identical to work correctly. Different ring times or schedules could impact other call forwarding numbers, leading to missed calls.
  5. To remove call blasting from an extension:
    1. Go to Call management > Extensions.
    2. Select Edit icon next to the desired extension.
    3. From Call forwarding numbers, select Ring in specific order.
    4. Select Save.
