Informational Extensions (or Enhanced Extensions) let you give callers up-to-date information about your company, products and services through sub-menus. You can use Informational Extensions to play recorded info about your company, but keep in mind callers can't leave a voicemail on these extensions. They are for information only, and can include nested menus callers can use to explore other topics.
Here’s some more important info about Information Extensions:
- You can have up to 5 topics, with up to 5 sub-topics.
- There is no limit on the length of Informational Extensions.
- You’ll have to first activate Informational Extensions in your Grasshopper account before you can access or record a greeting. (Callers can't access an Informational Extension that has not been activated.)
Note: If you signed up after June 2011, your interface does not have this feature available. Please contact our support team to activate this feature.
Here’s how to set up Informational Extensions:
Go to Settings, then Enhanced Extensions:
Next choose to add an Informational Extension, and link it to one of your existing Grasshopper lines:
Choose the extension the caller should press to access the Informational Extension from main greeting:
Once you click Save New Extension, your main Informational Extension will be created. You can then click Add Topic to create a new topic and customize and add a new sub-topic:
