Why is Grasshopper Connect going away?

After careful consideration, Grasshopper will be making an important change to the product portfolio. Grasshopper Connect will be absorbed into the flagship solution, Grasshopper, as of January 2021. We have found that Grasshopper meets the needs of the majority of our customers and the business is no longer going to support Grasshopper Connect.

Will my bill go up once I migrate to Grasshopper?

Your price will not increase when you migrate to Grasshopper. 

What will be migrated?

All your settings, call and text history, and voicemails will be migrated to Grasshopper, and your call experience will be the same. Text messages, voicemails, and faxes will appear as unopened.

What features am I losing?

Grasshopper will not include the email integration, unified inbox, business contacts, and timeline view.

What new features does Grasshopper have?

Grasshopper comes with a lot of new features that customers love! The most popular features are customized greetings, extensions, instant response, both desktop and mobile apps, VoIP/WIFI calling, call schedules, and reports. You can also add users to your account for easier management.

What will happen with my business contacts?

Because business contacts cannot be migrated into Grasshopper, you will need to manually save any contacts that you want to keep. Once you’re logged in to the Grasshopper mobile or desktop app, you can then sync your phone contacts to the app.  

How do I log in to Grasshopper?

You will need to download the Grasshopper app, which is different than the Grasshopper Connect app. Use the same username and password you used to log in to Grasshopper Connect to log in to the Grasshopper mobile app, as well as the desktop app and online portal.

Why does “Connect” come up when I receive a Grasshopper call? 

When you created your Grasshopper Connect account, a contact was created in your phone’s native contact book to help you identify calls to your Grasshopper Connect number. We recommend that you find go to you update this. Go to your contacts on your phone, find “Connect” and click “Edit.” Change the contact name to “Grasshopper.”

What happens if I don’t opt-in to migrate my Grasshopper account? 

Anyone who has not been migrated by January 7, 2021 will be part of a forced migration at that time and will no longer be able to access Grasshopper Connect. You will automatically be set up in Grasshopper at that point.

Why can't I log in to Grasshopper Connect?

Once migrated, you will no longer be able to log in to the Grasshopper Connect app. Download the Grasshopper app and use the same credentials you used for Grasshopper Connect to log in.
